A duplex penthouse where scale modulation plays a vital role in creating experiential spaces. The double height entrance foyer houses the staircase which was chosen to be cantilevered from the wall and finished in blue pigmented polish. Custom designed hanging lights at different heights enable a dramatic experience of the space while entering the house. For the open living / dining double height area, we decided to create a mezzanine floor to create a more intimate dining experience. Also, the mezzanine acts as a study cum lounge area on the first floor overlooking the living downstairs. The lavish modern kitchen is tucked away from the living area. The ground floor master bedroom for parents has a blue pigmented polish along with cane/rattan sandwiched in the wardrobes. The children’s bedroom on the first floor has geometric triangular patterns in the bed back and wardrobes. Here we’ve used a combination of ikkat and solid fabrics. The third master bedroom is done in sandwiched cane/rattan with veneer.
